DEFINICIÓN
El "presente continuo" es el tiempo gramatical empleado para expresar aquellas acciones que se están llevando a cabo en el mismo momento en que se habla.
FORMA AFIRMATIVA

- I am singing in my house Yo estoy cantando en mi casa.
- She is walking in the street Ella está caminando en la calle.
- You are studying in class Tu estás estudiando en clase.
FORMA INTERROGATIVA
ESTRUCTURA:
VERBO TO-BE EN PRESENTE (IS O ARE) + SUJETO + VERBO PRINCIPAL CON ING + COMPLEMENTO + ?EJEMPLOS:
- Am I watering the plants? ¿Estoy yo regando las plantas?
- Is Miguel swimming? ¿Está Miguel nadando?
- Are they traveling to París? ¿Están ellos viajando a París?
FORMA NEGATIVA
ESTRUCTURA:
SUJETO + VERBO TO-BE EN PRESENTE (IS O ARE) + NOT + VERBO PRINCIPAL CON ING + COMPLEMENTO
EJEMPLOS:
- I am not working in the factory Yo no estoy trabajando en la fábrica.
- He is not accepting the proposal El no está aceptando la propuesta.
- We are not accompanying to our friend Nosotros no estamos acompañando a nuestro hermano.
REGLAS PARA COLOCAR EL "ING"
- Cuando el verbo termina en "e", se suprime esa "e" y aumentamos ing. Ejemplo: to joke.........joking
- Los verbos que terminan en consonante precedida de vocal, duplicamos la consonante final y aumentamos ing, siempre y cuando tenga el acento en la última silaba: to cut.........cutting
- Si el verbo termina en "y" simplemente aumentamos ing: to study......studying
- En la mayoría de verbos aumentamos ing: to work.......working
